High Five!

This evening on our jog, my husband and I were high-fived by a young gentleman running in the opposite direction. This friendly gesture was accompanied by well wishes, “have a good one!”

Ah, yet another reason to love Loveland! Joggers who encourage you—even though they don’t know you! Thank you, friendly jogger, you made my day!

A couple of weekends ago, I stopped by the Loveland Craft Fair held at the high school. I came home with this wonderful tree created by Debbie Orcutt. I can’t wait to display this locally hand-crafted decoration during the holidays!

Loveland Girl Scouts

As I headed out this morning to go grocery shopping, I saw a gaggle of kids with bags running from one house to the next across the street. On my side of the street, I saw another gaggle of kids with bags. Oops, this neighborhood trick-or-treats on the Saturday morning before Halloween? (This will be my first Halloween in the neighborhood.)

I stayed on my porch until the kids approached my house. “You all trick-or-treating today?” I asked the parent.

“No,” she chuckled, “we’re with Loveland Girl Scouts and we’re collecting canned goods for the food pantry.”

Ah-ha! I finally got it. I told them to wait a second and I’d see what I had. I gave each of the three girls a can of our finest goods (tuna, peas and mixed vegetables).

Just another reason to love Loveland: the local Girl Scouts hitting the streets early on a Saturday to collect food for those not as fortunate enough to be able to grocery shop once a week.

Thank you, Loveland Girl Scouts for helping our community!

Friendly Joggers

This morning, I headed out for a jog around my neighborhood. I haven’t jogged on a Saturday morning in a long time and this just may have been my first one in Loveland. Early into my route, I passed a group of women walking/jogging and greeted them. Then, as I was getting back near my home, I saw the group again. This time, we all heartily greeted each other, many of them saying to me, “Hey, we saw you earlier!”

This is why I love Loveland!

Loveland Art Show

This past Sunday, my husband and I drove downtown to check out the Loveland Art Show just a little past noon. Downtown was HOPPING! In fact, we couldn’t easily find a parking spot, so we passed up the whole event! We did see a woman with a copper sunflower lawn decoration that was absolutely delightful, so I feel like I saw some of the art.

Good job Loveland Arts Council for creating an event that draws so many people! And, next year, I’ll ride my bike to downtown!

Ah ha! They brought it in at night! Very impressive. I checked it out this past Wednesday…pictures to come!

Loveland Firefighters’ Memorial. Complete with a small-ish firefighter statue. Thank you, firefighters!
